Cool Forage has all the usual benefits of haylage: being dust free and highly palatable.

However with the use of a specially formulated additive we have been able to take haylage a stage further! The additive we use us a naturally occurring microbe, which inhibits dust, yeast and moulds!

But the most innovating property of Cool Forage is once the bale is open the product inside is so stable it keeps fresh and edible for longer than conventional haylage!

The grass is cut, wilted and turned until a totally uniformed moisture content is achieved.

Only then can it be cut and baled!

Now the bales must be immediately transported to the stack and wrapped in at least 8 layers of polythene, which mean that it can be stored outside in all elements.

The light plastic we prefer to use has another benfit; it reflects the heat and keep the haylage in a more favourable environment than black plastic.

Once wapped the additive we use permits Cool Forage to actually be preserved in its natural state, rather than usual haylage which has to ferment.
